The Pink-footed Goose (Anser brachyrhynchus) is one of the characteristic species of the interior or highlands in Iceland. The number of breeding birds counts 45 – 50 thousand pairs, rapidly increasing in the last decades.

The Pink-footed Goose builds its nest in tussocks and in cliffs near water or wetlands. All the Pinfoots, or do you say Pinkfeet :), leave the country in the autumn and come back in April. They overwinter in Scotland and North England.
